I was born and raised in St. Mary’s County on our family’s farm. I attended Holy Angels Sacred Heart School and after graduating went onto St. Mary’s Ryken High School. Field Hockey was my passion and I played all four years at St. Mary’s Ryken. I, then, decided to attend St. Mary’s College for my undergraduate studies and graduated with both a biology and chemistry major.

I always knew I wanted to be a doctor and after college I went to medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. I loved it there so much that I decided to stay an additional four years to complete my Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatric Residency.

During this time I was in VA, my husband, Kyle, and I had 3 sons, Bailey, Josh and Nick. Because of Kyle and my family back home, I was able to complete all of my medical school and residency training on time. Our oldest son, Bailey, actually started Pre-K at Mother Catherine Spalding School in 2007 while I was still in Virginia. He lived with my mother during the week and came “home” to VA on weekends. We did this because I knew I was going to come back home and it was important to us that Bailey start school where he would eventually go. It was difficult not seeing him, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. In 2012 we moved back to MD. Our sons, Josh and Nick, are also students at MCA. Since moving back to MD, we finally had our baby girl, Emma, and she will start at MCA in 2018.

Since being back in MD, my husband and I have been able to do more for the school. My husband coaches basketball and serves as the Athletic Director. He also organizes the annual golf tournament at Wicomico Shores. I joined the Parent Teacher Partnership and serve as secretary. I am currently a co-chair of the Marketing and Enrollment committee, and am pleased to be a recent addition to the Board of Trustees this year.
