During the first week of school 3rd grade got to participate in their first lab of the year. They conducted a science experiment with Skittles. This lab helped introduce the scientific method to students as well as going over proper lab safety rules and expectations. This experiment also offered the students a chance to develop their vocabulary by introducing new terms like dissolve and blend. This fun science experiment gave the students the opportunity to predict what might happen when the hot water was added to the candy, allowing them to explore the concept of cause and effect.
